I too have a herniated c5-c6. I am going on 6 months with servere neck and shoulder pain. At times I cannot lift my arm it hurts so bad. I have had almost every test to rule out other things and I just had my second epidural last week. So far it hasn't helped. The Dr. said that if at the end of the second week I still see no improvement, he won't put me through the third. He said it would be pointless, that if the shots were going to help, you would see it by the second. I also happened to be the one in 30,000 that get the less common side effects too. I was told that usually patients get relief with this. I was down for 4 days with both of the shots. I can relate to how frustrating and depressing it can be.
