Yes, I am going through this now. C5-C6 rupture, and the pain in my arm is indescribable. I am waiting to have surgery to remove the disc and do fusion. Eleven years ago I ruptured my C6-C7 disc centrally and lost complete use of my right arm. So it IS possible. If you are not satisfied with what your Dr. is suggesting, I would try a different Dr. I can't have steroid epidurals, as I am allergic to steroids, and they didn't help me when I had them. I just had a terrible reaction. If the disc is centrally ruptured with compression, anything but sergery is just prolonging the inevitable.
