Hi Susan, I have a herniation at c7-t1 and diffuse bulges at c5-c6 and c6-c7. I have very chronic arm pain. I am very miserable. During my flare ups I have pain in in my shoulders and increased weakness and cannot lift my arm over my head either. Just a few days ago I couldn't lift my arm over my head or hold onto 3lbs due to the weakness. I also have had bilateral shoulder repairs as well but I know now that its my neck because my shoulders have been reapired. Neuro surgeons are antisurgery but then so it my ortho spine surgeon. Be persistant and don't give up. Get 2nd and 3rd opinions. It took me 3 surgeons to repair my first shoulder and probably will take 2 to do my neck. Best wishes. KIM
