Hi Sharry -- We were on a five week trip to Germany when I suddenly discovered I couldn't get out of a bathtub (the European tubs are very deep), had to roll out of bed and ached terribly around the shoulders and neck. This was around the 4th week. We weren't on a tour so not around a lot of strangers on a bus. I attributed the pain to carrying three cameras around - mostly around my neck. Two months later after acupuncture, chiropractice, muscle relaxers and therapy, it was finally diagnosed as PMR and the prednisone was prescribed which made all the difference in the world. I have been dropped to 4mg this week and am having a lot of pain in the upper shoulders again but I want to get off the prednisone so badly I'm really trying to toughen thru it. My rheumatologist says once you start going below 5mg you have to be very, very careful. From everything I've read, we have essentially cut off the adrenal glands and they need a chance to return to functioning normally. Hope you are feeling better. Kayva
