Hi Donna, Thank you for that encouraging news about Prednisone! I have PMR too, and I'm on 7.5 mg of prednisone daily. I have concerns about the long term side effects, and it is reassuring to hear that you have done well on this medicine. I agree that taking prednisone is much preferred over being disabled! It does the body no good to be bedridden. My rheumatologist said that being active and living my life with the help of prednisone, is much better for my body and even for my mind! He also said that low doses of prednisone should be fairly safe even for long term. He means 7.5 mg and below. I've been on prednisone for over a year, and I'm doing pretty well. I just have a little less energy than I did before I got PMR. Otherwise, I am pretty much going about my normal routine. I exercise regularly too, and that helps, but I couldn't do that without the help of Prednisone! Ann B
