For the last two years, I have had recurring yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis, sometimes one at a time, sometimes both simultaneously. I have tried everything from prescription medicines, to changing my diet, to inserting all sorts of home remedies (like whole garlic cloves, tea-tree-oil- saturated tampons, and homemade douche concoctions --to name a few). I change underwear often, I wash with feminine wipes or baby wipes several times a day, but the problem remains. Recently, I passed the infection to my husband through sexual intercourse. We were both treated with prescription medication and declared healthy. My infection returned about three days after my treatment was complete. I don't know what else to do. This is ruining my sex life. Intercourse is uncomfortable, and burning pain follows promptly. The ghastly smell (ranging from a faint mildewy odor to a strong, sour fishy stench) has deteriorated my confidence. I'm embarassed all of the time. Please help. This is torture.
