I find I develop BV after vigorous intercourse, I was told that the tissue in the vaginal area swells and the bacteria from the anal area seeps into the vaginal area. While the gel works to help clear it up I hate supositories. I have also found success with a 7 day treatment with flagel (?)an oral antibiotic. The only real precaution is not to drink alcohol for 10 days while on the medication. I have never developed a yeast infection from this antibotic.
