bacterial vaginosis

Everyone's ideas are very interesting. But I now doubt everything I hear. I have had recurring BV of something else for about 4 or 5 years. I can't believe it has gone on this long. I dream of the past before I didn't have chronic itching, odor, or discharge. Also, these symptons vary greatly for no apparent reason. Occasionally I will have no symptoms for a day or 2 but then they come back even if I have done nothing different. My (ex) boyfriend once complain about the smell and implied my "hygiene" might need better care. Well, like you, no one has better hygiene than me. Cotton undies, no deoderants, all that spiel. It's so frustrating and unfair. It feels like a curse many times. Today I am suffering from extreme itching and nothing helps, not baking soda and water, not washing or douching (which a dr. who was a BV expert told me to do). I know that my ph balance was always too high or too low. I know at one end of the spectrum you are to treat things oppositely fron the other so pat answers like "take asidophilus" (sp?) are not helpful. My doctor even moved away and now I am really at a loss. He told me the next good dr. in this area was not in my state! It's a very lonely thing, I'm glad I found this site.
