I have had this surgery, and believe that this is the only way to relieve your pain. If the disc isn't repaired the pain, numbness and weakness will get worse. And the longer you wait, the more the nerves may be damaged and may even become permanent. I would go back to the Dr. and ask for something for the pain and go through with the surgery. And let your attorney deal with workers comp. You have enough to worry about just getting well and taking care of your children. Good Luck!
