Hello, I know you will probably think I am crazy and if you would mention this to your orthopedic surgeon, I am sure he would say I was crazy, however with the risk of that I am going to suggest you go to your chiropractor. A chiropractor who is advanced proficient in the Activator method of chiropractic would be the best. The chiropractor will take xrays and will adjust your spine and that should alleviate the pressure on the disc. I firmly believe that this is the only way you will find relief from the pain. You may have soreness after an adjustment, your muscles and other connective tissues will need to adjust too. Follow what the chiropractor says to the letter, and you may not need to have surgery at all. There are not guarantees that you will have pain relief after the surgery and may have other problems after the surgery as well. Please take this into consideration. You ultimately have to decide, but if it were my back, I would take the noninvasive approach first. Your orthopedic surgeon will say that manipulation could cause worse conditions and that it could injure you further, so, talk with the chiropractor you choose and ask any questions you may have, then decide for your self.
