Hi there. I also have a herniated disk and have been suffering for one year - I am waiting to see an orthopedic surgeon to discuss options. I don't know if you have heard of DRS non surgical treatment for herniated disks but there is a high success rate. You might want to investigate DRS or VAX _ D therapy which are non surgical options for herniated disks in the lumbar area. My injury is over 10 years old and I did take this treatment however I am going through a long recovery because of the length of time I had this. I am not certain yet whether it was the best treatment for me but I wanted to try anything before the surgery Option. And just to make you feel better, I personally know about 10 people who did have the surgery and they are all fine with no complications and feel it was the right decision for them. I have never heard any negative stories - the success rate is in the high 90's so keep that in mind. Please feel free to correspond if you need to.
