BC is caused by a lack of healthy vaginal fluid called lactobaccili compounded by the presence of two other kinds of "bad" bacteria. BC is easy to get when a woman's normal vaginal acidity changes for some reason. For instance, freq. douching, a change of sexual partners and sometimes even stress. It can also be passed on via sexual intercourse. In any case BV is a fairly common infection among women, nothing to get overly alarmed about. However, it may take more than one treatment to get rid of. The problem is that the Lactobacilli that grows normally in the vagina may not begin to grow back right away after treatment. Therefore you may find yourself suffering the same symptoms, at some point after treatment. After 3 doses of antibotics your doctor may choose to treat your partner if you have one. Hope this has been of some help to you. Be well and God Bless You.
