Dear Robert, I am 50 years old and have had a pounding problem in my left ear for 27 years! I get it like clockwork every 12 weeks, and it lasts for two. The only thing any doctor has been able to figure is that it is a migraine-like condition - which makes sense, because the only thing that has ever helped it is Paxil - an antidepressent known for helping with migraines. Both are seratonin-related, and I believe I am deficient in that area, so....Anyway, after 27 years, it's been a relief, to say the least, to find something that helps. It sure is weird, though.
