Hello, I'm so grateful to have stumbled onto this site. I had my tonsils out 12/3/03--I'm on day 6. I had a great day yesterday and was feeling so good--talked way too much and then had the worst night ever. I'm still in a lot of pain. I think I'm getting the scabby things now on my throat which taste terrible and make me feel like I'm swallowing something evil. I've been developing a cough over the past two days and am now freaked out about deep breaths--someone posted to take deep breaths to keep your lungs clear, I vaguely remember the nurse saying that, but 6 days later, how helpful is this memory? I am taking tylenol with codeine because the loritab made me throw up terribly. It cuts the pain some for about 2 hours, but hour 4 before I get the medicine again is pretty nasty. I was hoping to go back to work on Thursday (day 8)--am I crazy? Plus, I talk for a living. Advice? The pain IS bad, and it IS worse than having a c-section, primarily because with the c-section at least you have a baby to be joyful about! My advice to anyone, chicken and stars cereal by Campbells (the kiddie mushy stuff--luke warm) and cream of wheat is the best so far. Jello is good, popsicles good, but you get hungry fast. Applesauce burns a bit, but was better on the digestion than jello. Ice cream and pudding is the WORST.
