As a medical (Lab) Technologist and a kidney patient I know that normal urine should be sterile...Infections are not normal and there should be no yearly average...When there is a UTI, that means there is bacteria in a place it shouldn't be...that bacteria feeds off the urinary tract and can cause permanent damage...IT is important to have all UTI's treated promptly and to find the cause to prevent future occurances....Talk with a urologist or a nephrologist.
