It may not be out of order for you to go to a neurologist or neurosurgeon to be evaluated for occipital neuralgia. This is particularly true if your headaches tend to concentrate on one side at a time. This type of neuralgia proceeds from compressions of the occipital nerve by blood vessels deep in the brain.
