Scabies is a microscopic insect that cannot be seen with the naked eye..It affects only the trunk of the body..not arms and legs...so it is doubtful that bites on the ankles is scabies. The treatment is a prescription medication called Lindane 1%...I was so embarrassed that I was infected by this that I went to a different drugstore than the one I usually use...Scabies are common in puppies...If that's where you contracted them from, obviously you have to have the puppy treated by a vet...They are contracted by having close bodily contact with someone who has them, or sleeping in a bed an infected person has slept in...You can also get reinfected by clothing you wore when you had them...Clothing must be washed in very hot water..If the clothing cannot be washed, you can try sealing them in a plastic bag and leave them there for several months.
