what is scabbies? how do you "catch" them and how do you tell if you have them and what remedies are there to get rid of them besides prescription medicine? What is the long term health effec if any/ Do they infect your bedding, clothes, etc. How do you rid your furniture and clothing of them. Do they only live on the body or can they live on you furniture and clothing. My sister is a health care provider in an Altzheimer's unit of a hospital and came to visit me almost 2 weeks ago. A patient has them and some of the nurses have them invcluding my sister. She slept in my house on my couch and used my sheets and blankets. I washed the sheets normally when she left. I'm not sure which ones she used. But I didn't wash the blankets. Ever since she told me I have been ver itchy. No one else seems to be itchy in my family. COuld this just be mind over matter - or what should I look for and how long, if in fact I was infected, would I see symptons and what are they. Please help. Thank you
