hi - about your mom and restless legs. i've had it for years. i think folic acid helps. plus magnesium.calcium supplement at bedtime. she may not want to get into this one but an md at a local sleep clinic suggested i try klonopin (yes, it is in the valium family) and .5 mg at bedtime (an hour before) helps considerably. the old standby for me though, over the years, is leg stretching and walking before bedtime. i don't know how old or active your mom is. bending forward and stretching those hamstrings, and generally moving and stretching my body before bed makes all the difference. running in place, shaking. it's such a trying condition, i do understand. if you want to talk, feel free. madir@whidbey.com. i think it's a circulation problem and i'm working on that specifically now, and will have more to say later...
