You probably have what is known as herpes simplex,a virus.The sores last about 7days there are medicines(blistex)that can ease the discomfort but like all viruses it must run its course.This herpes is contagious but unlike its sister herpes you get from sexual contact is not considered a "social disease"Hope this helps. once you get the virus it will go away but lays dormantuntil stress or sometimes an upset stomach can bring it on.
