I'm an almost expert on spider bites. I had one in Dec. 99 & 3 separate ones this year. Mine is on the ankle, too. If you don't have a "great" infectious doctor---get one. I've been on 2 central lines w-antiobiotics. We thought I was allergic to the antibiotics, but, I was allergic to te Heparin to flush the central line. Change the wound 2-3 times aday---yes I'm very serious. I had a super terrific home health nurse who changed it twice aday. Demand your doctors if you can---average doctors don't cut it with this type of wound. There is a lady I know who had a cream on her wound that cost $400.00 & she went to the wound center every day for months. Hope you get better!
