Traci My son was also diagnosed with ADHD at a young age and treated with Ritalin. When it stopped working he was put on different meds. With more behavoral problems (not severe) as he approached teens he was diagnosed with Tourettes, OCD, ODD and finally Bipolar, with all these diagnosis it resulted in meds to match. I was unsure too if these diagnosis were correct. 1 month ago my son, in a fit of rage, said he did not want to continue with meds. We agreed. It was scary, but he has been fine. He does continue with dexadrine for the adhd, and it helps. His grades are not great, and he hates homework, but he is not drugged up, falling asleep in class due to the meds. I am not saying your son does not have bipolar, but please do not make my mistake and believe in everything the pychiatrist told me
