I 33 yr old black male that was diagnosed with pericarditis on 10/11/00. I have minimal fluid build up around the heart. I have been given several types of inflammatory drugs. Presently none of them have worked so far. I have been confined to the bed for 2 1/2 weeks because I am having so much pain. I am definitely frustrated. I do not want to take steroids but I do not believe I will be able to function if I do not get some relief soon. I have also made sure I am eating properly and drinking plenty of water that has also failed.
